This is the new top of the line model from TomTom NV. It features a 4GB RAM, bluetooth connection for viva voice phone conversations and a FM Transmitter to send navigations instructions and music from the TomTom JukeBox to your car radio.

Unfortunately the use of this FM Transmitter is very uncomfortable if you live in a big city because of the crowded FM bands. It is very hard to find a free frequency to tune the Tom on. But if you can, this is a very convenient way to listen to the Tom through your car's speakers, and the quality is pretty good.

I found on the internet that the transmitter used by TomTom is the Si4710 FM transmitter by Silicon Laboratories. It's a pretty good transmitter with great characteristcs (you can easily find its datasheets with Google), and it is software configurable. If only TomTom have used the Si4711 we could have had song title and many other infos right on our radio display!

By the way I'd like to launch a challenge on finding the operating system parameters that configure the transmitter at unit start up, because by tweaking those parameters you can possibly raise the unit's output transission power and achieve better results in listening "TomTom Radio".
